United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi visited Kutupalong Rohingya refugee camp under Ukhia upazila in Cox’s Bazar on Saturday.
When asked about his activities in the refugee camp, Filippo Grandi told New Age that as the chief of UN refugee agency, he was there to ‘put pressure on international community’ for their assistance to the Rohingya refugees.
‘I’m here to put pressure on international community so that they help them.’
The UNHCR chief also thanked Bangladesh government for their support.
More than 4,22,000 people of ethnic minority Rohingya of Myanmar have fled to Bangladesh from their land since August 25, when attacks by Rohingya militants triggered a military crackdown, reports Reuters.
