Action would be taken if BRTC realises extra fare: Quader
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said that action will be taken if the state-run Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) buses realise extra fair from the home-bound people during the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.
He stated this at BRTC’s preparatory meeting ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr at its headquarters in the city, said a press release.
Quader, also the general secretary of Awami League, said the present government would build the BRTC as a modern, clean and transparent institution.
He urged the BRTC officials to improve its service during the Eid and restore its goodwill.
There is no alternative to make the BRTC a profitable organisation, he said, adding that the existing policies should be followed while leasing the new buses.
BRTC Chairman Farid Ahmed Bhuiyan and other officials concerned attended the meeting.
